About Troop 120
Troop 120 is established in 1978 , and every year since it had earned National Quality Unit Award and had 117 Eagle Scouts
We meet every Tuesday evening at the church from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. 120 is a medium sized troop (about 30 registered Scouts), emphasizing a wide range of activities for both younger and older Scouts. We have an active outdoor program with at least one major outdoor activity scheduled each month.
Our Troop is boy-run. Each summer we schedule two summer camps — one “traditional” camp and one “high adventure” camp. The traditional camp is open to all boys and offers activities for all levels and ages. For the traditional camp Troop 120 has selected Ransburg Scout Reservation . High Adventure camps are designed around more challenging themes and generally carry a minimum age requirement of 14 years old. High adventure treks to places like Philmont (New Mexico), Northern Tier (Minnesota), and Sea Base (Florida Keys) . For a more complete listing of our activities, including pictures of our many trips, check out the “past activities” link. Information about this year’s camps can be found on the “summer camps” link. Our Scouts are very involved in Order of the Arrow and Firecrafter as well.
We are happy to welcome new Scouts at any time, whether you’re bridging from Cub Scouts or have no previous Scouting experience. Scouting is open to all boys from age 11 – 17 — you need not start at age 11 — boys can join the program as late as age 16 and thoroughly and successfully enjoy their Scouting experience.
For more information get in touch with us (click on the “contact us” link), or simply come to one of our meetings.
We’re always looking for adults who would like to help with the Scouting program. Adult volunteers can participate as little or as much as their schedules allow. Please contact us for more information.
We’re proud of the many Troop 120 Scouts that have attained Scouitng’s highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout. For a complete listing of our Eagles follow the “Our Eagles” link.
